The Fort Outreach Employment Services opened its doors in Fort St James on November 15, 1977.  It began as a Canada Manpower funded Outreach Project sponsored  by representatives from Nak`azdli and Stuart Trembleur Indian Bands, the RCMP and the Ministry of Human Resources.

The Fort Outreach is located upstairs in a wheelchair accessible building which also houses the offices of Ministry of Children and Families, the Adult Education Centre, the Alternative Education Centre, the Northern Interior Health Unit, Community Corrections Office, Paul Swartz Law Office and various private businesses.
